House music is a montage of many influences; Disco, Afro Beat, Hip Hop, Salsa, Jazz, Electro and Soul; its musicality, texture and spirituality a result of both organic and electronic influences. It is this inherent multiplicity which makes Osunlade's body of work so engaging to music enthusiasts worldwide. Presents Yoruba (Rapster/BBE) is an overdue collection of his best remixes from his own label Yoruba Records, most of which are currently unavailable on CD.
Osunlade's musical lineage is unlike other "Underground heroes." His accolades go beyond the dancefloor anthems for which he is widely known. He has lent his production to some of soul music's most reputable new voices (India Arie, Musiq Soulchild, Vivian Green, Eric Benet), legends (Patti Labelle, Martha Wash, Freddie Jackson) and multi-platinum pop hits (Gerardo's `Rico Suave'). These opportunities have rewarded Osunlade the freedom to focus his attention on his own label, Yoruba Records, and expand the scope of his own releases.
